Brotherly Fun

Riley and Dylan sharing some grapes in the kitchen.
Believe it or not, they really are this sweet to each other most of the time!
Memorial day weekend was filled with outside sprinkler and pool fun.  Riley loved our new sprinkler...
 Dylan wasn't so sure.
Both boys loved their new kiddie pool.

Dylan taking a break from all of the water fun.
We have been wrapping up a lot of "stuff" and activities here in the last few weeks of May.  Riley finished soccer for the spring a few weeks ago.  He also finished Kindergarten....I officially have a 1st grade kid!  He's so excited about being in 1st grade now.... but I'm just so excited that he's on summer vacation.  It feels like I get my kids back for these next few months.  So I've been brainstorming of super fun activities that we can do this summer.  Yesterday, the boys and I did a little bit of shopping and then we went to The Bounce House in Canton.  The kids had such a fun time running and jumping and bouncing and sliding.  Dylan was especially cute, as it was his very first time in a bounce house.  He would bounce, run, and fall.  Then he would run over to me and give me a kiss.  Then he was off again.... bounce, run, fall, kiss.  It was too sweet!  Riley is quite the daredevil, not only jumping or sliding.... but jumping while sliding!    I didn't get any pictures of this outing, but it was so much fun!  Today, Riley and Eric are having special one-on-one time together running some errands and going to IHOP, and then Riley and I plan to back a chocolate cake together.  I can't wait for all of the fun we are going to have this summer... because I know that as of August 1st, I'll have to send Riley back to school :(

Eric's Wonderful Talent

This year, our yard has been exceptionally beautiful, all thanks to my talented, hardworking, and might I add handsome, husband!  Enjoy the pictures.

Spring Soccer Is Over?!?!

Last Saturday was Riley's last soccer game for the spring.  I didn't take the camera to his last game due to the fact that it was raining, but the rain did let up later on in the morning so I was able to get these pictures of Riley and his first Soccer trophy!  He did such a fantastic job all season:  scoring goals, making saves, and also making several assists.  He's got a lot of potential, and boy can he KICK!  I'm excited to see what team he will be on in the fall and who his coaches will be.  I see great thing ahead for Riley and soccer.  He's such a natural!

Sweet, Mischevious, Dylan

Recently, Dylan has discovered how to pull out the chairs in the dining room in order to climb on to the top of the table!  He seems to always be getting into (or on) things that he shouldn't.  He's very active and always on the go.  He has also started taking the air conditioner vent covers out of the floor and throwing toys, dog bones, food, etc down the ducts!  Luckily I've been able to retrieve all of the items that he decided should go for  a ride on the shiny silver tube that disappears into the floor.
And just when you think you've had it up to *here* with his antics... you catch a glimpse of this.  How sweet this boy is :)
But those moments are fleeting, and you will turn around to find him balancing on the window.  You've gotta give him credit though... that does look difficult!

A Beautiful Spring Day

This past weekend, we spent a lot of time outside.  It was absolutely beautiful.  We dug in the dirt, played soccer, played golf and just enjoyed the fantastic day!
 Is Dylan practicing his gardening?

 Golfer Riley
WOW!!  Look at that form!!  He's just like his Daddy.

Easter Sunday 2012

On Easter Sunday, the boys woke up to see what the Easter Bunny had left for them.  Riley got "The Lorax" by Dr. Seuss, a spiderman water bottle, and assorted candy, including a chocolate bunny.  Dylan got a board book about what Easter is really about and assorted candy, with the chocolate bunny.  We had every good intention of going to church at FBC Canton, but Dylan was still sick with a 103 fever, so we stayed home.  Eric did have to work that Sunday, but was home in time for Easter dinner.  I made my very first Easter ham ( in the past we have always ordered from HoneyBaked) and it was a huge hit!  I also prepared some sides to go with it.  So, we enjoyed our Easter dinner... just the four of us.  It was such an enjoyable evening.
Also, about a week or two leading up to Easter, I had been reminding Riley of why we celebrate Easter.  On Sunday morning, I asked Riley what was so special about today and why we are celebrating and he finally responded correctly saying "Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins.  And then he rose 3 days later."  I tell you, I was one proud mama!

Easter 2012

This Easter, as usual, we went to our neighbors house for their annual Easter Egg Hunt and Lunch.  Dylan had been running high fevers between 102 and 103 for a few days, so he and I didn't stay long.  We did let him participate in the egg hunt, but I took him home soon after, 1) as not to infect the other kids and , 2) because he was fussy and feeling quite miserable.  Here he is putting his eggs in his Easter basket.
 Riley on the hunt.

Here was attempt #1 to get a good picture of me and the boys....
This attempt was even worse...
and attempt #3.  We gave up after this one and Dylan and I went home.  Eric and Riley stayed for lunch and more games for the kids and didn't return home for several hours.  They had a good time.  Riley was even sweet enough to bring home a stuffed animal from the party for his brother.  He is absolutely, hands down, the best big brother ever.
